Intraoral Photography

The intraoral camera takes a picture of your tooth or gum tissue. The camera has a disposable sheath for each new patient and resembles a large pen. Dr. Cocozzo will slowly move the camera in your mouth so images can be taken at various angles. It is helpful for the patient to visualize the condition of their teeth especially when fractures or cracks are present.

Many patients have misgivings about a dental diagnosis that isn't accompanied by pain. The intraoral camera can demonstrate a problem prior to discomfort. That picture may be worth a thousand words.

The pictures are immediately available and also useful in conveying information to a specialist or dental insurance company.
